The
school council’s role is to make our school a better place for both pupils and
staff.
Pupils
will elect year representatives to the council using a secret ballot.
Council
members will serve for a period of one year.
The
council members will consist of one boy and one girl from each year group in Years
4 – 7.
Pupils
on the council will elect a teacher to serve in an advisory capacity.
The
council members will elect a chairperson, vice-chairperson and a secretary.
The
secretary will record the minutes and the three post holders will bring the
issues to the attention of the principal for consideration by the Senior
Management Team.
Whenever
a final decision is made, the individual council members will report back to
their respective year group.
The
council will meet during the third week of the month.
The
council will get a sum of £200 from the school budget to help make the school a
better place.
The
council members will actively seek the views, ideas and concerns of both pupils
and staff to make the school a better place.
Council
members will collect views, ideas and concerns using a suggestions’ box,
surveys and by talking to other pupils and staff.
Circletime
lessons will used to discuss issues collect information and report any decisions
reached.
