Terms of reference:
SEELB Responsibility
- To provide a good quality development programme for the school
- To provide a professional youth worker to deliver the programme
- To provide the school with the relevant programme literature and resources
Youth Worker Responsibility
- To provide a positive personal development programme for young people in
Primary 7.
- To deliver each session of the programme
- To be prepared for each session with handouts where needed
- To work within the Ethos of the school
School Responsibility
- To provide a safe environment to enable young people to take part in the
programme
- To give each young person in primary 7 the opportunity to take part in the
programme
- To provide teacher (s) to support the youth worker
Teachers Responsibility
- To support the youth worker in the delivery of the course
- To support the young people in groupwork and individual activities
- To inform youth worker of any special needs and sensitive issues involving
the young people.
Monitoring & Evaluation
This will take place through:
- Young people’s evaluation sheets from each session
- Levels of participation
- Evaluations of teachers
- End of programme evaluation
- End of programme report
Informal discussions will also take place during the course of
the programme between youth worker and teachers to discuss progress.
Quality Assurance
The programme will be quality assured through the following
elements:
- The young people's response is positive; they demonstrate
a high level of interest and involvement.
- The young people have a sense of enjoyment and achievement.
Sources of evidence for these elements will include:
- Levels of participation
- Observation of activities
- Discussions with young people and teachers
- Level of young people's involvement in group activities
- Records of young people's achievements
