SEELB POSITIVE BEHAVIOUR PROGRAMME
Primary 7 Class
FOREWORD
The Positive Behaviour Programme is a personal development programme aimed at young people in Primary 7. It aims to enable young people to look positively at themselves and their motivation and what influences their motivation. The programme also encourages young people to think positively about the transition from Primary to Secondary Education and how they feel about moving to a new school.
The programme started in 2003 and was piloted in the Ards Division in Alexander Dickson Primary School, Killinchy Primary School and Comber Primary School. Each school was very impressed with the programme as it enabled young people to raise their confidence levels in preparation for Secondary School. A full evaluation and Quality Assurance report on the programme can be obtained from the Ards Arena.
Whilst the activities in this programme provide the worker with the resources to deliver the programme, it is recognised that each individual worker may have a range of resources which they deem to be better suited to the young people they are working with. The worksheets within the programme should be taken back by the worker each week and at the end of the programme should be arranged in a folder and given back to the young people. This enables the young people to look back at how they where feeling about going to Secondary School.

It is hoped that this programme will be as successful in other schools as it has been in previous schools. Good luck.
