Based on Deming's 14 Points on Continuous Improvement  

1.      To create a climate in school that supports continuous improvement in Belvoir.

 

2.      To embrace the philosophy of continuous improvement and then to apply it to the people, polices, programmes, processes & places in Belvoir.

 

3.      To foster an inviting environment that is focussed on quality learning where external inspection is replaced by self-evaluation.

 

4.      To minimise variation in learning standards and to work with others that are quality orientated.

 

5.      To seek to improve the people, polices, programmes, processes & places by searching for those problems that have the potential to limit development.

 

6.      To use proven methods of in-service training for all staff to help maximise their full potential.

7.      To create a leadership model that facilitates people in Belvoir to do their job better.

 

8.      To encourage effective communication processes throughout the school community so that everybody will be more effective, efficient & productive.

 

9.      To break down barriers within the school community through working in teams and partnerships.

 

10.    To eliminate the use of statements on quality that do not provide the methods, training and resources to achieve the desired goal.

 

11.    To eliminate the narrow focus on numbers for everyone in Belvoir and instead to replace them with a focus on the continual improvement in the quality of education.

 

12.    To remove any perceived barriers in our community that does not support the celebration of the individual’s role in school. 

 

13.    To institute a program of continuous learning and to encourage self-improvement for everyone.

 

14.    To commit the governors & leadership team to supporting & improving quality and to remind them of their individual & collective obligation to implement all of these principles.
