Belvoir Park Primary School

After-School Club

“Building-People-Bridges”

Project Summary

The “Building-People- Bridges” project provides an opportunity to support children and their families and to make improvements in the environment, education and relationships of those who are associated with the project.

A partnership model has been developed to support the needs of children and families attending Belvoir Park Primary School .  The school and the local YMCA offer a model that addresses these needs in conjunction with other satellite groupings.

The After School Club, called the “Bridge”, will be supported by two specialist workers, including a project co-ordinator, who will be employed by the YMCA in Belfast . YMCA is a non-profit making organisation, which means that this is a cost-effective management arrangement for the school.

This school and YMCA staff team will be supported by the expertise offered through a multi-disciplinary approach.
